The day plush in warbled bird song. Today I watched a stranger in the street and the vomit strung from them in a quiet scree of gray and green push and shake in hung lines strummed by the breaking morning. And once I sang “I feel old.” And once I hope that I’ll sing in the shimmer of spring that the birds will bring that “I am old, I am whole, I am home.”
